France: Upcoming Study Destination For Indian Students

India and France have committed to enhance their academic collaboration and foster student’s foreign exchange programs. They aim to establish collaborative training initiatives, akin to the Indo-French Campus on Health for the Indo-Pacific, and facilitate research mobility in key domains of science and technology. In a bid to cultivate a network of Indian Alumni, France will grant five-year validity Schengen visas to Indian students who have completed at least one semester of study and attained a Master's degree from a French university accredited by the French university system.

France has set a goal to welcome 20,000 Indian students by 2025 with plans to elevate the number to 30,000 by 2030. To achieve this, France will intensify efforts in promoting studying in France and expand its team dedicated to education advocacy in India. Moreover, it will establish "International Classes" in French universities and other higher education institutions, offering Indian students training in French language and academic subjects. These classes will prepare students to enrol in Bachelor programs in the French language. The French government will pilot the creation of these classes, while the Indian government will work to promote them within the secondary education system in India.
